"An error occured while setting up the RPC port 9332 for listening: open: An address incompatible with the requested protocol was used"
I am running Windows XP 32 bit, and apparently this error has been encountered by others. After perusing forums for a bit, I found a solution the problem.
To correct this problem, you must install IPv6 on your network connection.
Here is how you do it, straight from Microsoft's website:
| 1. | Open Network Connections |
| 2. | Right-click any local area connection, and then click Properties. |
| 3. | Click Install. |
| 4. | In the Select Network Component Type dialog box, click Protocol, and then click Add. |
| 5. | In the Select Network Protocol dialog box, click Microsoft TCP/IP version 6, and then click OK. |
| 6. | Click Close to save changes to your network connection. |
| • | To open Network Connections, click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections. And that was all there was to it! |
